He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret; three daughters, Louise (Peter Nord), Laura Douglas and Linda (Rhett Boesen); his grandchildren, Jessica, Alex, Kolls, Scott, Lindsey, Tony and Halley; a sister, Helen (Richard Kohl) of Mount Vernon; son of Joseph B. and Louise K. Clyde. His father was pastor at Prairie Chapel Church in the 1940s. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids in 1945 and Coe College in 1949. He also had M.A. and Ph.D. degrees and was an Air Force officer.
member of Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity, an Eagle Scout, and a mediator for the North Hennepin Mediation Program for 10 years. Dr. Clyde retired in 1998 as a researcher with Augsburg College in St. Paul after 31 years.
