William Darling. The father of Heroine Grace Darling, was a lightkeeper in the Brownsman and Longstone Lighthouses on the Farne Islands and, together with his famous daughter Grace, rescued a number of the Crew and Passengers of the wreck of the paddlesteamer "Forfarshire" on the night of 5th Sept 1838.
He married Tomasin Horsley on 1st July 1805 in St. Aiden's, Bamburgh.
He was interred there on 30th May 1865
