Services for Alan Curtis Blackerby, 61, of Tyler, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, in the Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Chapel in Tyler with the Rev. Sherman Mayfield officiating.
Burial will follow in Williams Cemetery.
Alan was born on July 4, 1953, in Tyler to Curtis and Nancy Blackerby and passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Alan loved football, reading and being with his grandchildren. He was the greatest man the world never knew.
He is survived by son, Shane Blackerby, of Winona; daughters, Amanda Blackerby Solorza, of Tyler, and Sara Blackerby Woodcock, of Lindale; brother, Larry Blackerby; sisters, Joyce Hubbard and Carolyn Mathis; and grandchildren, Kathryn, age 14, Jonathan, age 13, Caleigh, age 8, Natalie, age 6, Lauryn, age 5 and Nathan, age 4.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, 2014, at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home in Tyler.
