Dorothy M. Stephansen, 76, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. in Memorial Hospital of South Bend.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 24, 2014 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN with Pastor Kim Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service time Friday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel.
She was born December 22, 1937 in Michigan City, Indiana to the late Edward and Julia (Gondek) Smith. On July 1, 1961 in Michigan City, IN she married Jack Stephansen who preceded her on November 1, 1990.
Surviving are a daughter, Deborah Stranad of Michigan City, IN; brother, Bernie Smith of Michigan City, IN; granddaughter, Laci (Dustin) Helterbrand of LaPorte, IN; great-grandson, Kade Helterbrand; and her special friend and companion, John Hoos of LaPorte, IN.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Smith.
