She was born to Dr. and Mrs. Milton O. Nyberg, March 14, 1920, in Wichita. She graduated from East High School in 1938 and attended Wichita State University for 3 years. On May 17, 1942, she married Loy Noland Gallop in Wichita. They celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Lena worked for Boeing (Stearman Aircraft) in 1942. Along with her husband, they were co-owners of Independent Scale Service in Wichita for nearly 40 years.
Lena was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two brothers, M.J. and Dr. Fredrik Furman Nyberg; and a sister, Mary Alice Kincade.
Cremation has taken place. Private family graveside service will be held in Mayfield, Kan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to James and Adrianne I. Gallop Memorial Scholarship at Pittsburg State University or to Gentiva Hospice, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS.
