Mrs. Maranda Wert, wife of James A. Wert, passed away at the family home in Aaronsburg at 1:15 o’clock Wednesday morning, following an illness of diseases incidental to her advanced age.
Mrs. Wert was a daughter of Jacob and Sarah (Corman) Brungart and was born on the Brungart homestead east of Rebersburg August 23, 1854, hence was aged 79 years, 7 months and 23 days.
Surviving are her husband, James A. Wert, four children; John B. Wert and Claude E. Wert, both of Centre Hall, and D. Sparr Wert, of Aaronsburg; two brothers; Clayton and Jeremiah Brungart, as well as twenty-three grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. A daughter, Sarah, passed away some years ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Wert celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary last month. They spent the last twenty-five years in Aaronsburg. Mrs. Wert was a lifelong member of the Lutheran church. Funeral services will be held in the home Saturday morning at 9:30 o’clock, and continued in the Aaronsburg Lutheran church, the Rev. Louis V. Lesher officiating. Interment will be made in the family vault at Wolfs Chapel. Neff & Son, morticians.
