"Funeral service for W. L. Boone, 49 years old, widely known farmer, who died in a Fort Smith hospital Wednesday morning, was held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Pleasant Hill church, three miles east of here. Rev. Victor H. Coffman, pastor of the Immanuel Baptist church at Fort Smith, officiated, and burial was in the Pleasant Hill cemetery, with Lennier and Reeves in charge.
Mr. Boone had lived in Hackett his entire life. He was stricken ill Saturday morning.
He is survived by his wife, five sons, Arthur, Earl, Granville, Herschel and Orville, all of Hackett; three daughters, Alta, Marie and Beatrice, also of Hackett; one sister, Mrs. Lou Blackard of Fort Smith, and one brother Andrew Boone, of Excelsior."
