LeMars, Ia. - Special: Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Mauer Funeral home for George C. Doty, 80, Plymouth county resident for 66 years, who died at Sacred Heart hospital here Sunday,
Mr. Doty was born in Dallas county, Ia., in 1868 and moved to Plymouth county with his parents at the age of 14. He farmed for many years, and in 1915 he retired to live in LeMars, where he served as deputy sheriff and constable for a number of years.
His wife, the former Edith Gill, died in 1917.
Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Frank Carley of Marcus and Mrs. Clayton Gear of Sioux City; a granddaughter, Mrs. Bill Woodall of Marcus; two great-granddaughters; two brothers, Warren Doty of Oregon and Frank Doty of Alcester, S.D.; and two sisters, Mrs. Ida Hustad of Los Anamus, Colo, and Mrs. Grant Troxell of Wagner, S.D.
