Ruth, wife of Albert Beaty, was the fourth child of Joe Sephus Russell and Sarah Isabella Boyd. Ruth wrote columns for the local newspaper. Ruth and Albert had no children. The shirt of her great grandfather, William Campbell (d. 1859, Nashville, TN), had come down through the family to her. She gave it, along with the story of his losing his arm as a child in a horse riding accident, to her niece, Martha (Russell) Bussert.
