Funeral services for Mrs. Emma W. Beecham, pioneer resident of Everett, were held Tuesday afternoon at the chapel of Challacombe & Fickel. The Rev. W.H. Marshall of the Congregational church officiated. Mrs. Beecham had been affiliated with this church for many years. Crossing the Bar and Open the Gates of the Temple were sung by H.B. Jory. The rites were closed witht he impressive burial service of the Women's Relief corps of which Mrs. Beecham was an active worker, holding the office of first color bearer for more than twenty years. Interment was in Evergreen cemetery by the side of her husband who died September 12, 1920. Mrs. Beecham was born in London, England, January 23, 1844. She came to America with her parents, John and Mary Watkinson, when she was about eight years old. The family settled near Sun Praire, Wis. Here she was married March 28, 1864 to Robert K. Beecham who was at that time a soldier in the civil war. The family moved to Everett in April 1894, and took up residence at 2624 Rucker avenue where Mrs. Beecham resided at the time of her death. Mrs. Beecham is survived by two daughters and one son, Mrs. Mabel B. Keithly of Fresno, Ca., Marwin W. Beecham of Yakima, and Miss Elma Beecham, 2624 Rucker avenue; also one grandson Robert B. Beecham of Yakima.
