A son of Vincent DeSanty and Antoinette (Siciliano) DeSanty, he attended schools in North Adams.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army.
He was employed as stationary fireman and boiler repairman for several companies in Northern Berkshire including the former Strong-Hewitt Woolen Mills in Clarksburg, the Sprague Electric Co. in North Adams, and the former Rochester Paper Mill in Adams, which is now the James River Corp. He was last employed at Pfizer which is now Specialty Minerals, in Adams, retiring in 1973.
He was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Church and was a member of the Northern Berkshire Retired Men's Club.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, the former Dorothy Bellard, whom he married on March 17, 1947, in St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Adams; two sons, two grandsons, two sisters, and a brother.
Another grandson, Ernest Michael DeSanty, died April 21, 1981. Four sisters and two brothers also predeceased him.
