Graveside services will be held in Greenlawn Southwest Memorial Park, 2739 Panama Ln., Friday, October 10 at 11:00 a.m. for Hillard "Jim" Pruitt, 67, who passed away October 5, 1997 in Bakersfield. Pastor Roger Poppen and the Veterans Association of Kern County will officiate.
Jim was born February 27, 1930 Heavener, Oklahoma and resided in Kern County for 35 years. He was in a U.S. Army Veteran of Korea. Jim was the owner/operator of an auto wrecking company for 25 years.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Imogene Polk of Orange Cove, CA. Survivors include his wife Lillie Pruitt; brother Everett Pruitt; granddaughter Amanda Rector, greatgranddaughter, Ericka Rector, step-son Robert Rector all of Bakersfield; step-daughter Patsy Martin of Sacramento and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin Thursday, October 9 at 1:00 p.m.
