Bruce A. Carman, 79, of Sioux City died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at his residence. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home, with Chaplain Stacey Gerhart officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until service time Monday at the funeral home. Bruce was born April 21, 1926, in Oto, Iowa, the son of Charles A. and Lula Mae (Burgess) Carman. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was employed with various businesses in the heating and cooling industry. He married Dorothy Feauto. When she died, he later married Retha M. Hover on Jan. 16, 1980, in Elk Point, S.D. She died Dec. 8, 1994, in Sioux City. He was a former member of the Eagles Club and enjoyed baseball and horse racing. Survivors include his special friend, Nina Harder of Sioux City; two sons and their wives, Charles and Debbie Carman of Sioux City and Marty and Judy Carman of Minnesota; several stepchildren; a brother and his wife, Byron and Darlene Carman of Bradenton, Fla.; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Paul, Les, and Duane. Pallbearers will be Josh, Jarett, and Jeff Delfs, Timothy and Tim Combs, Mark and Ken Harder and Jesus Sanchez. Following the graveside services at the cemetery, there will be a gathering at the Glass Slipper in North Sioux City.
