James Lee Griffin, 82, of the Rutledge-Colony community in Knox County, died Friday, in the Harry Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia.

Mr. Griffin was born July 19, 1907, in Warsaw, a son of William and Louise Joles Griffin. He married Mable Gertrude Griffin on April 28, 1932, in Miami, Okla. She survives.

Mr. Griffin was a retired chef and a veteran of World War II. He attended Quincy-area schools and was a Methodist by faith.

Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a sister and three half-brothers.
