Mrs. Lillie A. Arter, wife of Alva Arter, M Street, Littlestown, died suddenly at her home, yesterday afternoon at 12:45 o'clock, at the age of 67 years. Mrs. Arter had appeared to be in her usual health until stricken.

Mrs. Arter was a daughter of the late Urias Markle and Mrs. Joanna (Jones) Markle.

Surviving are her husband; ten children, Edgar L. Arter, Littlestown R.D. 2; Mrs. Augustus Hoff, Littlestown; Capt. Irvin E. Arter, United States Army Air Force, stationed at Manchester, N. H.; Clarence U. Arter, Baltimore; Earl O. Arter, Lancaster; Lester V. Arter, Cleveland, O; Walter M. Arter, York; Mrs. Catherine Mayers, Littlestown; Sgt. Carroll E. Arter, serving with the United States Army in France; and Burnell A. Arter, Littlestown; 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Joanna Markle, Hanover; and the following brothers and sisters, Curvin C, Markle, York; Mrs. Albert Dehoff, Littlestown; Mrs. Albert Leese, Philadelphia; Raymond Markle, Union Mills, Md.; Mrs. Elmer Weisensale, Hanover; Monroe Markle, Washington D.C.; Mrs. Spencer Dondore, York; and Clyde H. Markle, Gettysburg.

The funeral will be held Friday afternoon with services conducted at 2 o'clock at the J. W. Little & Son Funeral Home, Maple Avenue, Littlestown. The Rev. David S. Kammerer, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Littlestown, will officiate. Interment will be made in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Littlestown.
