MOS: 1980 Fixed Wing Aviation Unit Commander.

George and his wife were living in Wilmington, Delaware while George was serving with the Army Reserves, prior to going into active duty for a tour of Vietnam.
He arrived in Vietnam 16 January 1969 and was assigned to the 219th Aviation Company, 223rd Aviation Battalion, 17th Aviation Group, 1st Aviation Brigade, USARV. George was the pilot of a O-1D #55-4690 that was on a reconnaissance mission, when it was fired upon by hostile forces forcing his aircraft to crash and burn on the Ngok Kot Mountains, 5 kilometers west of Dak Pek. George died as a result of injuries to the body from the crash. His body was recovered and identify 19 February 1970.
Captain Aiken served his country for 2 years.
Survived by his wife, Jean R Aikin of Mount Pleasant Trailer Park, Lot #17,
Middletown, Delaware and his parents; Mr & Mrs Ralph B Aiken of Route #2,
Saint Croix Falls, Wisconsin.
