She attended and graduated from two business schools where she earned her first Associates Degree at Birmingham Southern and earned her second Associates Degree at University of Alabama. She was active in multiple women's clubs; participated in the PTA and fundraisers for her children's school and also for the church. She was on the founding committee that started Adger Cemetery Organization and Perpetual Care Fund, along with her constituents; they worked long and hard to establish the Foundation.
