Born to Hettie (McKim) and Aaron Alward; Bert had green eyes and light colored hair.

Bert lived in southern California and in Utah. He appears to have attended the Agricultural College of Utah at Logan in 1918 where he was in the Student Army Training Corps from October 14 to December 21. During 1918 he also worked as a Tractor Engineer for San Juan Farms in Montcello. He is described as slender and of medium height.

Bert was married to Vesta K. English in Orange County, California on September 15, 1928. At the time Bert was working as an auto mechanic and Vesta was a telephone supervisor.

In 1956 Bert and Vesta were living in Bakersfield, California.


PARENTAGE:
At the time of Bert's birth his father would've been 64 and his mother 48.

He is not living with Aaron and Hettie in the 1900 Census and Hettie states she only has one child.

Bert gives Hettie as his relative on his WWI draft card and the word "mother" is written in.

1920 Census in Woodrow, Utah; Bert is living in the home of his brother Joe H; also living in the home is Joe's mother H M Alward.

Marriage license (found by Erv & Patty Hudson) lists parents as Aaron Alward and Hettie McKim Alward.
