Mrs. A. Frances Shumaker, 94, of Frederick, MD and Gurnee, IL died at Homewood at Crumland Farm, Frederick, on Thursday June 10, 2010. She was the wife of the late Alva "Al" V. Shumaker. Born on March 23, 1916 in Zion, IL she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Abbie Bywater Ashton. Surviving is one son, Gary Shumaker (Helen) of Charles Town, WV, and one granddaughter, Deanna Shumaker. Frances was preceded in death by four brothers, Alfred, Jr., Daniel, George, Charles and one sister, Elizabeth Taylor. Inurnment will take place later this summer in Highland Memorial Park, Libertyville, IL. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Homewood Foundation, P.O. Box 250, Williamsport, MD 21795.
