She married William H. Brown in 1876 in East Texas. Five children were born to this union and they were Mary, Susie, Les, Sam and John. Susie unfortunately passed away in February of 1890 at the age of 6 months.
After their marriage they moved north of Newark where Mr. Brown was engaged in farming. In 1907 they moved from the farm north of Newark into Rhome, where they would make their home until 1909, when they moved again back to Newark where they would spend the rest of their married life.
Mrs. Brown held her membership in the Newark Baptist Church where she had been an active member for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Brown, who passed on in 1931, and by two daughters and one son.
She is survived by one daughter; Mary Evans of Newark and three sons; Les Brown and John Brown, both of Ft. Worth and Sam Brown of Newark. She is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 55 great -grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Grace Baptist Church in Newark on Friday, February 4, at 2 pm, by the Rev. Roy L. Johnson. Pallbearers were Johnny Thompson, Robert Evans, William R. Evans, Benny Brown, James L. Waldrip and Kenneth Ray Slayton.
Interment was in Deep Creek Cemetery.
