Dudley Abbott, 90, died on October 16, 2014. He was born on December 15, 1923, in Tarma (now Nonnell), Kentucky. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a professional horse trainer and worked at Meadowbrook Farm, managed Tattersall's Sales and judged at The Red Mile. He was also a founding member of the United Professional Horsemen's Association (UPHA), a member of the UPHA Hall of Fame, a member of the American Hackney Horse Society Hall of Fame, a member of the American Shetland Pony Association Hall of Fame and a member of the Indiana Horsemen's Association Hall of Fame. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and five nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Bertha (McKinney) Abbott; son, Mitch Abbott; and brothers, Marvin Ray Abbott and Glendal Abbott. Graveside service: 2:30 p.m. October 20, 2015 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville, Kentucky. Arrangements: Clark Funeral Home, 241 Rose Hill, Versailles, Kentucky.
