Lela was a 1st cousin (twice removed) of mine. I never met her, but over the last few years I have had several phone conversations with her. She was a very pleasant lady, and very knowledgeable in our Edde lineage, that I am researching.

CASHION, Lela Mae, age 83 of Lynchburg died Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006 at her residence. She was born on March 25, 1922 in Moore County, TN, the daughter of Mattie (Durm) Edde and James Edde, Sr. Mrs. Cashion was a homemaker and was a member of the Lynchburg Church of Christ and was an active participant at the Lynchburg Ladies Handiwork Shop. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Ray Cashion, a brother, Jim Ed Edde and two sisters, Kathleen Walker and Betty Jo Moore. She is survived by four sons, Gilbert (Sandra) Cashion and Bobby (Carolyn) Cashion of Lynchburg and Mack (Geraldine) Cashion of Lois Community and James (Brenda) Cashion of Belvidere; two daughters, Paulette (Mike) Jennings of Lynchburg and Nancy (Larry) Hatfield of Lois Community; two brothers, Hershel Edde of Wartrace and Jack Edde of Lynchburg; five sisters, Mary Dixie Walker, Ruth Hill, Jean Anderson and Katie Bell, all of Moore County and Tiny Conley of West Virginia; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Lynchburg Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Richard Logan officiating. Interment was in the Lois Cemetery in Lynchburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society Moore County Second Annual Relay for Life, c/o Farmers Bank, P.O. Box 159, Lynchburg, TN 37352. Lynchburg Funeral Home, Lynchburg TN in charge of arrangements, 931-759-4444.
