Services for Mr. William Herman Smith will be held 10 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2014 at Little Rock Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Little Rock Cemetery with Rev. Warren Hedgepeth, Rev. Gene Higginbotham and Rev. David Nelson officiating. Visitation will be held at Stephens Funeral Home of Union from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2014.

Mr. Smith retired as Lt. Commander after 22 years in the Navy, where he fought in WWII, as well as the Korean War. He taught special education at Meridian High school for 13 years and spent more than 60 years in the Little Rock Masonic Lodge and Order of the Eastern Star. He died at his residence on Friday, June 20, 2014 after a long life of 101 years.
