Joseph V. Bedgood, 74, of Webster, went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 31, 2014. Mr. Bedgood was born October 9, 1939 in Center Hill to the late Thurman Earl and Myrtice (Tolar) Bedgood.

He was of the Southern Baptist faith, a farmer and a retired truck driver. He had returned to Sumter County in 1975 from Maryland.

He enjoyed his animals, fishing and being a family man.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Anna; 4 children, Carolyn (Steve) Williams of Webster, Susan (Antonio) Calzalco of Selinsgrove, PA, Betty Jo Whitman of Webster and Joseph V. (Gretchen) Bedgood, Jr. of Webster; 3 sisters of the 12 children are surviving, Deliah Head and Judy Garcia both of Webster and Charlotte Barringer of Fruitland Park; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 2 sons, William Earl “Billy” Bedgood and Aaron Mathew Bedgood.
