Born in Lesje, Gulbransdalen, Norway. Came to America at 18 yrs of age. Met husband Casper Mathias Kaldahl at Sam Parker House in Glenwood, MN, they were married summer of 1897. They had nine children; Pearl Myrtle, Orin Clifford, Alvin Martin, Clara Helen (died at age 9 mos) Helen Clara, Margaret Adelia, Edna Bernice and Esther Evelyn. She joined the Seventh Day Adventist Church in 1910. An angel here on earth is now with her heavenly father.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lena Kaldahl Gunderson, 93, were held at Hoplin Funeral Chapel on Sept 4 with Pastors Philip s Young and H. I. Jarness, both Seventh Day Adventist ministers officiating.

Mrs. Gunderson died Aug 30 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Deer River, MN.

Interment was in the Glenwood cemetery, beside Casper Kaldahl, with Howard Williams, Edward Kaldahl, M.A. Kaldahl, Elmo Kaldahl, Oliver Kaldahl and Ernest Kaldahl as pallbearers.

Furnishing the music for the service was Larry Burgeson, soloist; and Mrs. Philip S Young, organist.

Lena Avdemshagen was born August 12, 1873 in Norway. When she was 18 years of age, she came to the United States. She was united in marriage with Casper M. Kaldahl and to this union were born nine children. They made their home in and around Glenwood. Mr. Kaldahl preceded her in death in 1937. Two children also preceded her in death.

In 1942 she was united in marriage to Brent Gunderson. They made their home in Glenwood and in California. Mr. Gunderson died in 1957. After his death, Mrs. Gunderson spent some time in California and then moved to Northhome, MN, where she made her home until her death. She enjoyed relatively good health and maintained her own home, where she spent her time busily making quilts, crocheting rugs and knitting mittens.

Mrs. Gunderson is survived by two sons, Clarence of Osseo, and Alvin of Redding, California; five daughters, Mrs. Walter (Pearl) Nagel of Menlo Park, Calif.; Mrs. Bert (Helen) Weiss, of San Martin, Calif.; Mrs. A.W. (Margaret) Carlson of Maple Plain, MN; Mrs. William (Edna) Booth of Mountain View, Calif, Mrs. Cecil (Esther) Guyot of Vivian, LA; 32 grandchildren and 64 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter Clara Helen, one son, Orrin Clifford in 1962, and her parents.
