NAMPA— Services for William C. "Andy" Anderson, 63, of 427 First St, North Extension, who died Tuesday at his home following a long illness, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Flahiff Funeral Chapel of Nampa by Rev. Loren W. Short, pastor, Nampa First Assembly of God Church, interment will be at Kuna Cemetery.
He was born Aug. 15, 1910, at Heavner, Okla., where he was reared and attended schools. He came to Nampa in 1939. He served in the Army Air Corps in World War II as a radio operator in England. He returned to Nampa following his discharge in 1946. He married Roberta Irene Jansson Aug. 14, 1946, at Winnemucca, Nev. He was a truck driver until ill health forced his retirement. During the years of his Illness he became active in the hobby of citizens band radio and is widely known as the "Wise Old Monkey" among CB operators throughout the Treasure Valley area.
He was chairman of the Old Time Fiddlers Association for several years. He also helped raise funds for many charitable organizations.
Surviving are his wife of Nampa; four sons, Jessee, Lafayette, Ore., Tom, Las Vegas, Doug and Bill Jr., both of Nampa; two daughters, Mrs. Franke Dean and Miss Johnnie Anderson, both of Nampa; two brothers, Jay, Wendell, and Ernie, Denver; one sister, Mrs. Maude Bray, Pollock Pines, Calif.; and two grandchildren. His parents, two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
The family suggests contributions may be given to the Gideon Society for Memorial Bibles; or flowers may be sent.
