Jasper Newton Hillhouse is the only child of Sebira Hillhouse (DOB-DOD) 1807 to 1-28-1864). Jasper was fathered by William B. Marshall (DOB-DOD) 1801-1862). Jasper Newton Hillhouse married Ann Eliza Wasson Hillhouse (DOB-DOD) 1847-1935) on 02/03/1874. They had four children, Benjamin Milton Hillhouse (DOB-DOD) 5-15-1875 to 10-30- 1950, Sidney Ralph Hillhouse (DOB-DOD) 2-8-1882 to 3-21-1958, & Floyd Louise Hillhouse Baker (DOB-DOD) 4-2-1884 to 6-7-1975. Lockey Geneva Hillhouse (DOB-DOD) 6-17- 1879 to 9-15-1880 at only 15 months of age. Jasper had one half sibling Charles T. Marshall (DOB-DOD) 1832-1918)Jasper Newton Hillhouse's first marriage was to Mary Jane Thornburgh on 8-20-1856. He nullified this marriage due to not claiming to have fathered Mary Jane Thornburgh Hillhouse's three sons, Augustus Newton Hillhouse (DOB-DOD) 5-20-1857 to 9-5-1863, William Hindman Hillhouse (DOB-DOD) 2-5-1859 to 10-4-1862 & George A. Hillhouse (DOB-DOD) 6-27-1864 to 7-8-1927. Augustus Newton & his brother William Hindman died at early ages. George A. married but with no children.Jasper Newton Hillhouse served his community not only as a teacher, but also as County Clerk for four years, and later as County Judge for four years (and at a time when Lawrence County covered a very wide are of the State of Arkansas at at time that Lawrence County was a part of Missouri. His genius lay as one of the great teachers of Arkansas in its early days and during the difficult years following the Civil War.
