She was christened on September 17, 1838 in Archdeconry of Suffolk, Suffolk, England, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
The family moved to Lound, Suffolk, England, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Susan first met Ezra Thompson Clark here while he was on his missionary trip to England.
After saving her money, she left Liverpool, England aboard the ship Manchester with 379 other LDS passengers on April 16, 1861 and arrived in New York on May 18, 1861. She traveled to Salt Lake City, Salt Lake County, Territory of Utah arriving on September 12, 1861.
Susan married Ezra on November 8, 1861 in Salt Lake City.
Susan died on November 4, 1902 in Farmington, Davis County, Utah at age 64 years, 2 months, and 10 days old.
Her obituary in the Deseret News on November 7, 1902 read as follows:

Respected Citizen Passes Away After Brief Illness.

Mrs. Susan Leggett Clark, wife of the late Ezra T. Clark, died Nov. 4 of congestive chills. She went to Salt Lake City last Saturday on the cars, in her usual good health, but caught a cold and although she was able to be up some Sunday and Monday she turned suddenly worse, and died as peaceful and quietly as though going to a natural sleep.
She was 64 years old last Aug. 25, and was born near Lowestoft, England, in 1838, was baptized in 1854, and emigrated to Utah in 1860; married in 1861. She was the mother of 10 children, seven of whom survive her.
As daughter, wife, mother, neighbor and Latter-day Saint she was highly esteemed and exemplary model.
The funeral services were held in the meeting house at 1 o'clock today.
