Susan C. Leader, 60, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at Christus St. John Hospital in Nassau Bay, TX. She was the wife of the late John E. Pomeroy. Celebration of life service Sunday, March 26, at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, York. Private burial in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Susan was born in York March 27, 1945, a daughter of Virginia (Curry) Leader of York and the late Guy A. Leader, Jr. She was a first grade elementary school teacher her entire career. She began her teaching career at Alexander D. Goode Elementary School in York, taught for a year with the U.S. Consulate in Brussels, Belgium, then for two years with Gulf Oil Company in Caracas, Venezuela. For the past 30 years she has been teaching at Edward H. White Elementary School in Seabrook, TX. Susan was a 1963 graduate of Susquehannock High School in Glen Rock. She attended York College and received her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Penn State University. Susan leaves a brother, Guy A. Leader, III of Ephrata; two sisters, Lida L. Leader Yocum of Plantation, FL, and Amy J. Leader of Harrisburg; and four nieces. [York Daily Record]
