Juanita "Sis" Lowrance was born August 24th, 1925 in Spring Creek, Oklahoma to Grace G. (Oare) and Thomas Cornelius. She passed away Monday, February 7th, 2022 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 96 years, 5 months and 14 days.
Juanita grew up in Spring Creek, Oklahoma where she attended school. She transferred to Delhi Schools where she graduated in 1945. During her senior year she was married to Donnell "Jiggs" Gene Lowrance at Spring Creek, Oklahoma at Juanita's mothers house on January 29th, 1945. Shortly after their marriage Jiggs was drafted into the Army and Juanita she moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming where she found employment and supported herself. After Jiggs was discharged in 1946, they moved to Weatherford, Oklahoma where they began their family. They moved to California for a short period before moving back to the Mangum and Willow, Oklahoma area where they began farming. After moving back, Juanita was a housewife, was active in church work and kept children in her home. In June of 1967, with Jiggs' parents health failing, they moved back to Sayre, Oklahoma where they made their home. Juanita worked in the banking industry where she was in the book keeping department. She also kept books for Jantzen sporting goods in Clinton, Oklahoma. Juanita enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends. She always considered raising 4 children and spending time with her 13 grandchildren as her greatest accomplishment.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jiggs; 2 great grandchildren; 4 brothers, T.B., Carl, Guy and Curtis Cornelius and 2 sisters, Willie Thomas and Mary Bell West.
Juanita is survived by her 4 children, Nita Jean Ousley and husband, Roy, Tahlequah, OK, Jerry Don Lowrance and wife, Pam, Hobart, OK, Carl Bruce Lowrance and wife, Lois, Sayre, OK and Jackie Glen Lowrance and wife, Sherree, Elk City, OK; 13 grandchildren, Lacinda Albright, Connie Jean Ousley, Christal Bensch, Lisa Humphrey, Lynn Wright, Kristy Phyillaier, Michelle Lee, Amber Lowrance, Carl Bruce Lowrance, Jr., Dustin Lowrance, Jackie Sue Lowrance, Heather Miller and Ridge Lowrance; 31 great grandchildren; 1 great grandchild on the way; 2 great great grandchildren; 1 sister, Clara Ward, Cache, OK and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 12th, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Sayre First Baptist Church officiated by Brother Pete Parker.
