Spring City, UT-Our loving father Glen Samuel Osborne was reunited with his parents William Virgus & Ida Athene Osborne on October 13, 2014. Dad was born November 28, 1933 in the family home in Spring City, Utah. He graduated from North Sanpete High School where he was active in all sports. He briefly attended Snow College before marrying his high school sweetheart, Mary Louise Allred on December 10, 1952. After being married for three weeks he entered the mission field and served an honorable LDS mission to South Africa. Upon his return home he was drafted into the US Army, serving in Texas and Pennsylvania where he received his medical training. Throughout his life he worked for Sanpete Valley Bank, First Security Bank, owned and operated Sam's Market in Spring City, part owner & manager of San Viking Campers, Moroni Processing Plant, Deer Creek Mine and finally retiring after working 14 years with his friends at Bountiful RV. He was active in community service, serving 8 years as Mayor of Spring City, affectionately known as Mayor Dudley. He had several passions including hunting, genealogy, the history of Spring City, spending time in the mountains and playing jokes on family and friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a great love for his family which includes, Susan (Gary) Hanson, Fountain Green, UT; Mary Ann (Bob) Vanderford, Albany, OR; Sam (Suzann) Osborne, Spring City, UT; Sandy (Darrell) Burr, Spring City, UT; Shawn (Wendy) Osborne, Mendon, UT; Dustin Osborne, SLC, UT; 23 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren, who all lovingly called him Grandpa Fiddlesticks; brothers, V. Connell (Marge, deceased) Osborne, Provo, UT; Leo (LouAnn) Osborne, Nephi, UT. Funeral services will be held Friday October 17, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Spring City Historical LDS Chapel. Viewings will be held Thursday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Rasmussen Mortuary, Mt. Pleasant and Friday from 11:30 - 12:30 prior to services at the church. Interment in the Spring City Cemetery.
