Alvis Eugene Avirett, 78, of Yuba City died Jan. 4, 2004, at his residence. Born in Brownfield, Texas, he was a Yuba-Sutter resident for 13 years. He was a carpenter for 50 years and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include two sisters.
Visitation will be from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Sierra View Mortuary, Olivehurst. A graveside service is scheduled at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sutter Cemetery.
