Helen Rhoda Burgess Christiansen passed away at her residence at the age of 81. She was born to Horace Seth and Rose Camilla Andersen Burgess. Helen had lived in Sparks since 1918, coming from Ogden. Helen was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Fourth Ward, Prater Way, for 79 years. She was the daughter of a former Sparks mayor. She is survived by her sons, Wayne D. Barker of Reno and Earl L. Barker of Canyonville, OR; daughters, Faye Ruth Noordman and Patricia Woo, and sister, Olive Wheeler, all of Sparks; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Henry M. passed away in 1977.
