Mrs. C. L. Krouse Dies Unexpectedly.

A Stroke of Apoplexy Results in Untimely Death of Wife of Our State Senator.

Mrs. Chas. L. Krouse passed away very unexpectedly from a stroke of apoplexy, last Monday evening, and her going has spread a wave of sadness over the community. It is hard to understand why a woman of such extraordinary character and friendliness must be taken in the prime of life. Mrs. Krouse gave much time and energy to community affairs. For many years she has taken an active part in the Royal Neighbor lodge, and has held office from time to time in the county organization. She was superintendent of the Fine Arts department of the Pottawatomie County Fair, year after year. She was a hearty worker in the Eastern Star Lodge, and also belonged to several ladies clubs of the community. Her place in the community life will be mighty hard to fill.
She leaves to carry on a grief-stricken husband who was called home from his work in the state senate, and one son, Gail, who is a mem-ber of this year's senior class of the Onaga Rural High School. To them the heart of the community has our sympathy.
Bessie Krouse, the daughter of O. P. and Anna Crumbaker, was born at Onaga, Kansas, on March 30, 1884 and passed away February 7, 1933, at her home in Onaga, being 48 years, 10 months and 20 days old.
She was married to Charles L. Krouse on March 5, 1905. to this union was born one son, Gail.
She leaves to mourn, besides her husband and son, her father, O. P. Crumbaker, and one brother Earl, both of whom reside in Denver, Colo., together with many friends.
With her family, she united with the Congrega-tional church and was a loyal worker in the Ladies Aid society of that church.
Funeral services were held at the Congrega-tional church, yesterday afternoon at two o'clock, in charge of the pastor, Rev. J. H. Cone. The church was filled to overflowing and the floral offerings were very beautiful. The business houses of the city were closed during the funeral hour. Interment was made in the Onaga cemetery.

Card of Thanks.
To those who rendered cheering words, floral offerings and assistance in the loss of our dear wife and mother, we extend our deep appreciation.
Charles L. Krouse and Gail.
