Newell Vance Williams, age 81, of Wilmington, died suddenly on July 2, 2014.
Vance was born July 10,1932 to the late Zebulon Vance Williams and Maude E. Newell. He was raised in Burlington, NC. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Bishop Williams. Survivors include his daughters, Pam Robbins and husband Dan Robbins of Raleigh, NC and Terri Skiver and husband Jim Skiver of Lexington, NC and niece, Amee Stewart and husband Greg Stewart of Asheboro, NC. He was a proud veteran of the US Army serving in the 25th Infantry during the Korean War. Vance was retired Vice President of marketing for Pine State Creamery in Raleigh. He will be remembered by all as one that put everyone else's needs in front of his own. A private Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401 or New Hanover Humane Society, 2405 N. 23rd st. Wilmington, NC 28401.
