Leitha A. (Matthews) Borland Wills of Scriba, NY, passed away October 2, 2014, in the Oswego Hospital, after a long courageous battle with an illness. She was born on April 26, 1927. She married Elmer Borland in 1945 and after a battle with polio which left her partially handicapped, she had three sons, Dale R. of North Carolina, Lynn F. of Parish, NY (deceased) and Keith J. of Knoxville, Tennessee. Numerous friends, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will miss her steadying hand and courage. She was predeceased by Josephus Wills, a man who provided her great comfort and enjoyment, as well as a family of supportive children of his own; George, "Chip", Brian and Brenda, all of Oswego, NY. Leitha considered them, their children and their grandchildren to be part of one big happy family. A special thanks to her close friends, Mary Goodney and "Krissy" Duell, who provided love and companionship beyond measure in the last few years. She battled major health issues before her death, Keith and Dale extend their heartfelt thanks to the many family member who contributed during her life. Our undying gratitude goes out to Dr. Bernardo and Nurse Kathy Pilon of the Oswego Hospital for the dignity and care they provided in her last few days. A graveside service will take place at 11 a.m., on Saturday, October 18, 2014, in the Pleasant Lawn Cemetery, Parish, NY. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are in care of the Harter Funeral Home, Parish, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in Leitha's name can be made to The COPD Foundation.
