William Krachey passed 10/6/2014 peacefully in his sleep at home with his family around him. He lived in Worth, IL for 47 years. He was born 9/28/1924 in Wales, ND where he was a cowboy as a young boy. He use to travel out West by hopping trains. He was a WW2 veteran as a Combat Engineer for the US Army. He later became a Truck Driver and continued trucking till he retired. He was very active and bored easily so he took a part-time job delivering news papers for the South Town Economist, then he worked for the Rail Road Yard checking in trucks, which he enjoyed, till he was 86. He was always a hard worker. He always made sure his family, his most important thing to him, was taken care of. He liked to watch old Westerns while eating candy corn and sipping Jack Daniels, Moonshine or Rock & Rye (no, he wasn't a drunk). He always had a good story to tell to anyone who'd listen. He was an incredibly kind man. He loved animals and had many pets, including a raccoon named Clyde.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Willie Krachey, four children Betty Krachey, William James Krachey, Debbie Waszak & husband Glen, Kathy Lamonto & husband Rich, four grandchildren Jessica & Megan Lamonto and Zachary & Samantha Waszak. His sisters Maxine Erickson and Betty Glover. And his dog Troubles.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lillian & Vincent James Krachey, brother Vincent James Krachey and many other family, friends and pets.

He wanted no funeral just for his family to say their final goodbyes to him at home then to be cremated and his final wish was fulfilled.

In his memory have a shot of whiskey for him and do a good deed in his name, that would make him happy!
