SOUTH PARIS, ME -- Earl E. Milligan, 90, died Tuesday July 16, 2013 at the Maine Veterans Home in South Paris.

He was a resident of South Rumford Road in Rumford. Born in Rumford, Maine on June 30, 1923 he was a son of Ambrose and Rita (Peabody) Milligan.

He was a graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII as a Tech Sergeant.

He worked for Boise Cascade Paper Mill in Rumford as an Electrician until his retirement. Family was everything to Earl. He also enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, gardening and raising his own food. He and his wife Edith enjoyed spending winters in Florida.

He was married in Rumford, Maine on May 17, 1948 to Edith Avery who died in Ft. Myers, FL on April 5, 2012.

Survivors include three daughters, Gail Weston and her husband Norman of Rumford, Linda Emmons and her husband Will of Saco, Adrienne Platt and her husband Mike of Missouri; five sons, Gary and his wife Terry of Texas, Steve and his wife Janet of Arkansas, Allie and his wife Marie of Alabama, Phil of Andover, Dan and his wife Sylvine of Virginia, 23 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; a brother Merle and his wife Katharine of FL and a sister Nellie Burgess of Rumford.

He was predeceased by his parents, 10 siblings and their spouses, a grandson Neil Weston and several nephews.
