OBITUARY
Marshall Richard Hipes was born in Jacksburg, Wayne, Indiana, March 28 1845, died at Claremore, Oklahoma, June 11, 1911 age 66, 2 months , 13 days , He was married to Jennie Simmons, September 13, 1865. To them were born three sons John F Hipes, who died in 1901, Frank Hipes residing in Trinidad, Colorado, and Harry R. Hipes living in Nashville, Oklahoma.
Mr. Hipes recently sold his school-quarter south of town and went to Claremore for treatment. He has had leakage of heart and other troubles for sometime.
Deceased has been member of the Baptist Church for a number of years. In 1904 he identified himself with the Church of the Brethren and departed this life in that faith.
The Funeral services were conducted Tuesday by, J. H. Gordon and the remained were laid to rest at the church.
Mrs. Mary Hipes returned to Trinidad, Colorado, Wednesday evening . She took Grandma Hipes with her. Grandma will remain sometime to enjoy the mountain air and recuperate.
