Dr. Lawson Paul Barnes, died at the North Carolina - South Carolina football game Saturday, November 18, 1950 in Columbia. He collapsed and died just before the first half of the game ended.
Son of Lawson Thomas Barnes and Harriet Annie McCown Barnes.
A Bennettsville, SC, eye specialist, is survived by the widow, Mary Miller Barnes (married in Chattanooga, TN, June 7, 1929); one daughter, Martha Barnes Robison; and one son, Lawson Paul Barnes.
Services were held at the First Presbyterian Church.
