Mrs. Blanche L. Barenthin, 83, formerly of Rock Island, who was residing with her son, Henry S., in Michigan City, Ind., died Tuesday in St. Anthony's Hospital in Michigan City.
Services will be held Thursday in Michigan City and visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening at the Root Funeral Home in Michigan City.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park, Rock Island.
She was born in Magnolia. She married Stephen J. Barenthin in September 1914. He died Feb. 10, 1927.
Mrs. Barenthin was formerly employed in the cost department at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1963. She was a Gold Star Mother.
Survivors include her son, Henry, a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Woods, six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
