Death of Anderson Benge

After several weeks of illness, accompanied by great suffering, Anderson Benge died at his home early this morning. Mr. Benge has been a resident of this county since his parents, Alfred and Margaret Benge came here in 1855. For twenty three years Anderson Benge and his brother, John were associated together in the hardware firm of Benge Bros., which was dissolved in 1904 by the retirement of Anderson Benge.

He has long been a faithful member of the First Christian church of this city and a devoted comrade of Pitzer Post, No. 55 G.A.R. and an old member of Madison lodge I.O.O.F.

Mr. and Mrs. Benge celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in August 1916. Their younger son, Bertrand of Grand Junction, Colo., arrived this morning. The elder son, Warren is a resident of Winterset.

Funeral services will be held at the Christian church on Friday afternoon at two o'clock.
