Leo was born in Tyrone, Ireland on June 10, 1935.
Leo is survived by wife, Martha Erskine, children, Leo Erskine and his wife, Nancy and Maureen Erskine, grandchildren, Michael, Sean, Eric, Ashley and Kathleen and sister, Lilly.
Leo served in the British armed forces prior to coming to the United States in the late 1960s.
Leo married Martha Traina on May 24, 1986. They lived in West Islip, NY, where he worked for Con Edison as a Foreman in New York City. They moved to Rio Rancho, NM in 1992. Leo was a member of Saint Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, enjoyed playing his bagpipes, volunteering with the Shriners and the Masons. Leo was active in the Rio Rancho community where they lived since 1992. The family is very grateful for the loving care and special friendships Dad has had at the nursing home.
A visitation and life celebration will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at Daniels Family Funeral Services, Sara Road Chapel, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1502 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM. Entombment will immediately follow at 11:45 a.m. at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road SE, Rio Rancho, NM.
