Charlie Emmett Foster was born on February 22, 1882 in Giles County, Tennessee, the son of William Franklin Foster (1836–1910) and Elizabeth Ellen "Kate" (Morrow) Foster (1839–1910).
He was a millwright for Vultree Corporation and lived at 217 Orlanda Avenue, Rural Route 2, Nashville. He was 61 years old and the husband of Ollie Belle (Tweedy) Foster when he died at home of a gastric rupture on December 12, 1943. Burial was the next day in Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashville.
