VERONICA E. HUTCHINS. Veeronica E. "Bootsie" Hutchins, 85, died July 1, 1993 at St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown. She was born April 9, 1908. Her parents were J. Francis Goldsborough and Florence Victoria Yates. Mrs. Hutchins worked for Blair's Gift Shop and Town and Casual Dress Shop in Lexington Park. She did volunteer work for the Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, for St. George Catholic Church, at the Leonardtown fire department carnival, for the 2nd District fire department and the St. Mary's Academy alumni. She was the mother of Betty Lou Stone of Tall Timbers and Bernard Frank "Pinch" Mattingly of Annapolis. Also surviving are five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Hutchins was predeceased by two husbands, John Bernard Mattingly who died October 12, 1931 and Webster "Hutch" Hutchins who died March 24, 1974. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and five brothers. A service will be held July 6 at St. George Catholic Church in Valley Lee with Father Charles Muzzey officiating. Interment followed in Our Lady's Cemetery at Medley's Neck in Leonardtown. Pallbearers for Mrs. Hutchins were Joseph V. Stone, Jr., B. Frank Mattingly, Jr., Edward B. Mattingly, Michael J. Mattingly, Paul E. Mayor, Walter Blair, Tommy Goldsborough and Thomas Barnhart. Memorial contributions in Mrs. Hutchins name may be made to St. George Catholic Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 9, Valley Lee, Md. 20692. Arrangements were handled by the Brinsfield Funeral Home.
