A Visitation Celebrating the Life of Janice L. Reeves, 50, Eudora, will be held on Thursday evening October 9, 2014, from 6:30-8:00 P.M. at the Warren-McElwain Mortuary-Eudora Chapel.

A Memorial Service for Janice will be on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Eudora Chapel. Burial will follow in Eudora Cemetery.

Janice was born in Lawrence on June 8, 1964, the daughter of John A. and Yoland M. (Whiteaker) Reeves. She died on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Medicalodges in Eudora. She was preceded in death by her father, John, and a sister, Phyllis Clary.

After attending Bess Stone and Cordley Elementary, she was graduated from Baldwin High School in 1986. She then worked at Cottonwood, Inc. for almost 25 years. She was always eager to go to work with her lunch in hand and a dollar for her daily pop. In 2005, Janice was recognized as Employee of the Year.

Janice participated in Special Olympics and excelled in bowling which she loved. She enjoyed being with family, friends, and co-workers, and they, in return, enjoyed her infectious laughter and her non-judgmental, outgoing, loving nature.

Survivors include her mother Yoland Reeves of Eudora, two sisters, Judy (Dan) Samuels of Topeka, KS and Melinda (John) Nunez of Lawrence, KS and a brother, Rick (Marsha) Reeves of Olathe, KS; nieces and nephews John Samuels, David Samuels, Geoff Clary, Andrea Murkin, Adrianne Nunez, Kate Reeves, and Rachel Reeves; and eight great nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staffs at Cottonwood, Eudora Medicalodges, and Grace Hospice for the attention and care they showed Janice.

The family suggests memorial to any of the above. Online condolences may be sent to www.warrenmcelwain.com.
