Earl was the sixth child of John and Elizabeth Ann Clayton
McAffee. He was born at Wallsburg, Wasatch Co., UT. In 1916 he moved to Darlington, Idaho with his parents, where he completed his schooling. He was employed by the Highway Dept., building roads in Custer County. He married first, LaVerne Dickson,in 1932, at Blackfoot, ID. Two chilren were born to this union, Michael, and Terrence. This marriage ended
in divorce. He married second, Nov. 1, 1941, to Gertrude Kinney, at Missoula, MT, Nov. 1, 1941. Two children were born to this marriage, Scott and Bruce. Gertrude passed away on
Nov.29, 1964, after which he married Ada Swayze on Feb.18, 1971, at Salmon, ID.
