Charles DeViney, 85, of 313 S. Franklin St., a retired businessman and realtor, died Thursday at his home following an extended illness. He was a life resident of Delaware County and the son of John E. and Malinda (Minnick) DeVinney. Mr. DeViney was an active member of the High Street Methodist Church and IOOF Lodge.

Surviving are one brother, Mark DeVinney of R.R. 6; one sister, Mrs. Cora M. Higgins of Morristown, Fla.; one step-grandson, Frederick Smith of Indianapolis; and one step-daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mark Smith of Muncie.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Meeks Mortuary by Dr. Newman S. Jeffery, with burial in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday.
