Cary was born on May 8, 1935 in Pryor to William Nelson "Bill" and Lucille (Tone) West. She grew up and attended school in Pryor where she graduated from high school. She and Arvil Lee Kyles were married on May 7, 1954 and from their union came two daughters, Kim and Kay; they moved to Catoosa in 1962 and have made their home there ever since. Cary worked for Lowrance Electronics in Tulsa for 20 years before retiring. Cary loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a constant caregiver to others, always putting their needs before hers. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was very witty; she was very active and at the age of 70, she sprained her wrist while giving horsey rides to the grandkids; she got a good laugh out of it. She also enjoyed sewing and cooking.
