Casualty of the Great War,Abner served with the Australian Flying Corps Central Flying School, Cook Point~Service No: 666.He was 33 and held the Meritorious Service Medal.

He died in an air crash (DH.4A serial E8616) over Bass Strait


He was accepted for commemoration as war dead on 7th October 2014.

The Australian Book of Remembrance, located in the Australian Capital Territory, commemorates Australian casualties of the two World Wars who were not formerly recorded by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. The men and women remembered here are presently commemorated solely by their database and register entry. The Office of Australian War Graves will continue to investigate the grave location details and advise the Commission accordingly.
As at 7th October 2014, there are 34 recorded casualties.
